Despite rising inflation and interest rates, real estate in Portugal remains an attractive investment
due to its security, favorable climate, political stability, and good infrastructure. The country's
tourism industry continues to drive its economy and attract international investors. While there
may be some uncertainty regarding the future of the "Golden Visa" regime, it is not expected to
significantly impact the overall market.
The first semester is expected to see the consolidation of major operations in the hotel and industrial & logistics sectors, further boosting commercial real estate investment. The office segment has also performed well, with promising prospects due to new market entrants and the announcement of new headquarters for Portuguese companies. Portugal experienced strong GDP growth in 2022, following a decline in 2020 due to the
pandemic. Unemployment reached its lowest level in years, and the Consumer Price Index saw a significant increase. Despite high CPI rates, there was a deceleration in prices towards the end of 2022.
